Fairmead Hunting Lodge is a safe fenced game park owned and operated by Richard and Barbara Turner. It is situated 40 kms from Wanganui and is ideally suited to both Trophy Hunters or young inexperienced hunters. Fairmead caters for a wide range of hunters, from the fully experienced skilled stalker, to learner hunters who require some tuition and guidance.
All trips are guided by Richard, allowing him to pass on his vast knowledge gained from over 50 years of commercial and recreational hunting.
Richard has guided a number of hunters to successful Deer, Chamois & Tahr trophies over many years and is now concentrating on the Fairmead Fallow block where he has a growing number of top class trophy Fallow Bucks. There is also an increasing selection of non-trophy or meat animals to choose from.
Accommodation is available with one or two bedrooms in the homestead or you can stay in the old-style Totara Ridge Hut, overlooking the hunting block but only a 5 min 4 wheeler ride from the homestead. The hut sleeps four, has an open fireplace and gas cooker but there is no power in the hut.
Accommodation, meals and field dressing is included in the price, and packages are personalised to suit your requirements. You tell us what you want and we'll do our best to provide it.
Transport can be provided. We can pick you up from Wanganui or Palmerston North airports and drive you back when your trip is over. There is also a helipad available if you choose to fly in direct.
